Tattoo Stories is a project that engages and provides the opportunity for youth/young adults to share personal stories in relation to their tattoos. The participants involved in this project work with a professional photographer to capture intimate photos of their tattoos. Afterwards, each participant is interviewed by our Creative Director, to get “real” and share stories about resilience, self care, life purpose and the benefits of the arts.

On March 10th, Lifted By Purpose (LBP) showcased during their listening party/gala, photos and stories from the Tattoo Stories project. Youth from the project had the opportunity to share their experiences being involved in the project and also about their personal journey of practicing self care. If you missed out on attending the event, don’t worry on Sunday October 9, 2016, LBP will provide the opportunity for people to come out and experience past and new photos/stories from the Tattoo Stories Project. Information with dates, location and times will be announced soon.

In the meantime, check out some of the photos taken by photographer Fitzroy Facey. Read the intimate stories youth/young adults shared during their interviews with LBP Creative Director, Kimberly Miller Pryce.

Established in 2012, Lifted by Purpose (LBP) is a trauma-informed creative enterprise with a focus on mental health and wellness. We operate as a collaborative partner of the non for profit organization SKETCH.
